Multiple IE Versions (PC Only)

If you are the type who often needs to test on multiple versions of IE (e.g. IE7 and IE6), there is a quick way to do it.

  • Upgrade, if you haven’t already, to IE7.
  • Then run the exe file from the creator of the Multi-IEs (http://tredosoft.com/IE7_standalone).
  • From there you can select which versions of IE you want to load (v3 through v6).

I’ve installed it on my machine and an old one in the office, and so far so good. Nothing too weird yet. I’ll keep this post updated with any issues that come up. So, if you want to wait before you do this, I fully understand!

I was using Co’s old machine with IE7 to test the pcap site and IE7 crashed repeatedly when trying to click a link that would open a new window. I didn’t have a problem with IE7 on Crawford’s machine. Perhaps the first adverse side-effect of Multiple IEs?
