Online Collaboration…on steroids

I am came across a tool that allows you to collaborate with other people in a visual environment. As you can see in the below screenshot, multiple people can annotate a document and mark it up with comments.

Design team: This may be useful for discussing comps or other design deliverables when you’re not able to be in the same room together.

The environment can actually be used for not only images and PDF’s but also video (by marking up a particular frame). The Flash client keeps everything in sync so that all people logged-in see the annotations in real time.

The pricing model is similar to Basecamp, with a Personal account (limited space) available for free.

The company is relatively new, but launched their product this month. Their core team came from Autodesk and is based out of Montreal, Canada and Berkeley, CA.

The little blue bubbles are not part of the tool–just identifying tool features. The orange bubble is, however, a comment that can be expanded to see what one collaborator had to say about the area circled in red. Learn more at www.cozimo.com
