Browser memory usage

Why is my machine so slow???  Oh yeah, I haven’t restarted my browser in a week…  My browser is eating my computer’s memory.

Someone did a comparison of several browsers (including Firefox 3) and their memory usage over a period of 3 hours of “normal” browsing.  He says he was actually using the browser, not just running a script.  Looks like Firefox 3 really has the smallest footprint, and Safari 3.1 on Windows is the worst.

    Yes! I had noticed this issue as well (not enough to be proactive about it, but enough to check memory when things were out of sorts). I guess I will have good reason to go to FF3.
