This is a good article about estimating User Stories. I think that it is worth the 5 minutes or so to read, although nothing is totally new.
The author recommends a much smaller scale. Actually just 4 numbers (1, 2, 4, and 8). I’m not sure it is worth changing from our practice but his points have great validity.
