Microsoft released the IE8 Web browser in mid-March but is now pushing it through the automated Windows Update (over the last month, we’ve seen visits from IE8 more than double across a number of sites we monitor, up to almost 5% of all visits).

Why should you care? IE8 does a better job implementing Web standards than previous incarnations of IE which should eventually make everybody’s life (including ours) a little easier.

BUT, check out your site in IE8 because Web developers have been forced to use a number of workarounds in the past to get sites to render properly in IE7. These workarounds may cause them to break in IE8. Fortunately, there are some simple ways to put a Band-Aid solution on this.
