anyway if both seperate wordpresses are on same server instead of using domain name,try using “localhost” for both that worked for me a few years ago…

Hi Phil,

I’ve had the same problem for a year. I’ve never managed to make it work despite trying everyone of the things described in the comments on this blog. It’s truly frustrating.

Don’t really think it has something to do with your specific scenario, as it also happens to me copying from one domain to another domain.

I’m curious as how to solve this question. Any one here who has any input?

I have posts in one blog of a sub-directory of a main domain that I want to copy to a blog in the main domain. Both are on the same host but each has its own database, etc. I have done everything that has been suggested thus far, but I continue to get the “ERROR: Author () does not exist on target system!”

Is this just something that won’t work in my environment?

Felipe, it still doesnt work even if everything you mention is the same. Any ideas? I have checked everything

For those who cannot install
this error occurs
IF the database is wrong, if the user doenst REALLY exist
note that the name of the username must be the same as the POST CREATED on the source, and the POST ID MUST BE ONLY THE NUMBER

Hi tbk4040 and Jeff,

Did you ever manage to fix the “ERROR: Author (name) does not exist on target system!”?

Sounds like an excellent plug-in, however I get the exact same error message here on WordPress 3.2.1.

Any ideas?

Hi
Would appreciate some help please…
I’ve installed the copy post plugin on site1 trying to copy the blog articles to site2.
I’ve put the settings in as per the instructions on this blog and checked them iwth the wpconfig file – they are correct.
The same user is on the site2 user list.
And yet i get the single error line:
ERROR: Author (name) does not exist on target system!
What am I doing wrong?
Wordpress edition 3.1.3 is in use on both sites

I have tried Camtasia and CamStudio, both have its own value. But I think you should insert NanoMax screen recorder (www.nanoback.com) between them.

So, how can we ensure that destination_wrdp1 to connect from webserver ? Is this done via cPanel ? & How ?
